Priority Road

First, let's look at a vehicle approaching the crossroads - can you remember what we mean by approaching.

Going straight ahead.
When you are approaching crossroads and you do not intend turning off the priority road you need only be aware of the fact that you are approaching the crossroads and look for any vehicles that may be emerging in front of you.
We're in the blue car and have a good view to the left where the yellow car is preparing to emerge - we should be able to see that the driver is stopped and it is good practice to look at the driver - watch his head to make sure he is looking properly - you will soon learn to judge how the emerging driver could be expected to react.
Views to the right are obscured however, we will know from the advance warning sign that this is a crossroads (even if we can only see the minor road on the left) and the good driver will have eased off the gas slightly - we should be prepared for the unexpected to happen from the side road on the right - so if the driver of the red car acted recklessly we would be prepared to avert an emergency. Play it again?

Now, let's see what happens when an approaching vehicle is turning at a crossroads.
